Obituary of Harriet R. Fallon

Harriet Fallon of W. Bloomfield, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at age 95. She was born the daughter of Mark and Josephine Lord Richardson on February 25, 1914 in Jamaica Plain, MA. She was predeceased by her husband Martin in 1989. Beloved mother of Michael (Cecile), Martin, Jr. (Gretchen), Charles (Marcia), Edward (Susan Antos), Catherine K.; grandchildren, Catherine E. (Mark Bouza), Christina (Sam Sifton), Ian, Abraham (Belinda Smith), Benjamin (Liz Chimienti), David, Marisa Antos-Fallon, Josephine and Adiron Corichi. Great grandchildren, Hallie and Claire Sifton. Harriet grew up in Boston, MA, attended the Winsor School, the Sorbonne in Paris and the Yale Drama School. She worked as a costume designer in the New Deal's Federal Theatre Project. While a member of the Little Theater in Gloucester, MA, she met her husband Martin. Later, they started a family farm in West Bloomfield, where she indulged her love of animals, children and natural beauty. For over 80 years she summered with her family at Eagle Ridge in East Edgecomb, Maine on the Damariscotta River. There she swam, sailed, canoed, and shared her love of that place with her children and grandchildren. Harriet will be remembered for her many gifts, including her strong spiritual sense, generosity, love of family, and lifelong interest in the needs of others. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. No prior calling. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 27 at 1 pm at the family farm, 3106 Taft Road in W. Bloomfield.
