Royer was on duty when my son was taken to Strong and stayed with him talking about so many things to keep his mind busy while waiting for well over an hour before he was taken to a room in ER where my son passed away. He was so caring when I saw him at Home Depot.

I'm so very sorry to learn of Royer's passing. What a nice guy! I enjoyed the few courses I took with Royer and Diana...always learned a great deal from them just talking during breaks or lunch!
Diana, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Like you, Royer was a titan in community service and will be missed by many.
Royer was so welcoming to us when we joined in 2022. We always looked forward to the Monday night meetings when he would regale us with tales of his many deliveries in the field in New York! He was a kind and gentle man who was always looking to serve. He will be greatly missed

My sincere condolences to Diana and family, and the entire Rush Fire Department family at this difficult time. I shall always remember my friend Royer for his awesome conversations that so impacted my life resulting in me becoming a fire department chaplain, now chief chaplain for the VFPASNY. I last saw Royer and Dianna while assigned to their table at a banquet. Little did I know it would be the last time I would see my chaplain mentor. I am so grateful that for some unknown reason, I leaned over and thanked him for being my friend for so many years. Rest easy dear Royer until one day when we meet again in heaven's eternal happiness.
Royer will be missed by the entire FASNY EMS committee. We will miss his stories and friendship. I on a personal note will miss Royer who always encouraged me. We lost a good man!!! Diana our hearts and prayers go out to you. Royer rest in peace and we will take it from here. Love you,

Royer you were the man who helped to shape me into the person I am today. I can never thank you enough for being the friend,mentor and confidant I needed in my life as I grew and changed.You were always there when I needed help and support, and for that I am eternally grateful. I love you . I miss you . I know you are at peace now. You will always be Grandpa to me.

I spent many nights working with Grandpa , he taught me a lot and what I knew he helped refine. When he retired it was a loss to our station but after that horrible day Grandpa showed up and became the glue that pulled us all together. I know I’ll miss him. “G” rest in peace.
