Marjorie Ames Walike (1930-2025)

Marjorie Walike, 94, of Honeoye Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, NY on Friday, January 17, 2025.

She was born in Covinton, PA on November 30, 1930, to Freal and Elizabeth Ames.  Marjorie attended Haverling Central School followed by graduation from SUNY Geneseo's Teachers College. Marjorie retired from the Haverling Central School District after a 34-year career teaching first and second grade.

Marjorie enjoyed gardening, antiquing, and gathering with family and friends. She always looked forward to the Summer Ames Family Reunions. Marjorie was also an active member of the Pleasant Valley Grange. Marjorie (with the help of George) had a brief stint as an owner/operator of a food wagon called "Walike's Weenie Wagon" thatthey took to the Steuben County Fair and other local festivals.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband George, sister, Dorothy Robbins Pomeroy, and brother, Freal Ames.

Marjorie is survived by her three children, daughter Amy Mincher (Gary) of Rhinebeck, NY, two sons Christopher Walike of Bath, NY, Bradley Walike (Joann) of Honeoye Falls, NY, and four grandchildren, Melissa Mincher (Karl), Megan Mincher, Jennifer Walike and Casey Walike.

There will be a private service for family members.
