Obituary of Mary Ellen Brock

Mary Ellen Brock passed away on January 24, 2025, at age 88. She was born on August 20, 1936 in Rochester, NY to the late Henry and Carmine Fresher Egan. Mary Ellen was also predeceased by her husband of 68 years, George, (Veteran US Army); her daughter Sue, son George and her brother Edward. Mary Ellen is survived by her son John (Sue) Brock, her daughter Jan, who was her parent's caregiver for many years. Three grandchildren, Ryan, Cory and Evan. Many nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen worked at Loblaws, Star Market Supermarket, RF Communications and Wegmans on Mt. Hope Avenue, where she received employee of the month a few times. She enjoyed talking to people coming through her line at the register. She loved bowling in her younger days. Mary Ellen also loved being with family and friends at parties or just meeting up at places like the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, the Loop Lounge, VFW or anywhere Genny Light was sold. Friends may join her family as she is reunited with her husband George (with Military Honors) for burial, in Western NY National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, NY on May 30, 2025, at 11 am. (Meet at office parking lot 10:45 am). A Celebration of Life for both will follow at the Rochester Elks Lodge, 3525 East Henrietta Road at 1:30.
