Obituary of Julia A. Clough

Julia "Julie" A. Clough of Honeoye Falls, NY, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on April 1st, 2025, at the age of 81. Julie was born to Jeremiah Charles Clough and Arlene Ruth (Zecher) Clough on May 9th, 1943, in Batavia, NY. She would fondly recount growing up on "the farm" in Rosier, NY, and in "C-ville" (Constableville, NY) with her 4 brothers—Jerry, Mike, Jim, and Doug. She graduated from Rome Free Academy and went on to study Library Science at The State University of Geneseo, where she graduated with her master's in education and library sciences. Julie became a School Librarian and taught library at Fairport Central Schools, where she would share her love of reading for over 20 years. Julie and her former husband, the late Paul Rainer, had one daughter, Lucinda, whom she was very close with and loved dearly. Julie loved to read, travel, and spend time with her family and friends. She was known and loved by many for her witty conversation, bright personality, and for the love and laughter she poured into those around her.

Julie was predeceased by her father, mother, her brother Jerry F., and former husband and partner Paul Rainer.

She is survived by three brothers: Michael John (Melanie), James Douglas (Elizabeth), and Douglas Nelson (Samira); her daughter Lucinda (Christopher) Sequeira; three grandchildren: Christopher Jr., Guinevere, and Rachel Sequeira; great-grandchild Roy Sequeira; and many other beloved family members and friends.

Friends may attend Services, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 1pm at St. John's Episcopal Church, 11 Episcopal Ave. Honeoye Falls. She will be laid to rest with her parents at Zion Churchyard in Rome, NY, at a later date.
