Obituary of Joyce N. Holdsworth

Joyce Neva Holdsworth (Lonthair)

October 2, 1932 – April 7, 2025

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Joyce Neva Holdsworth (Lonthair) on April 7, 2025, at the age of 92.

A longtime resident of Mendon, NY, Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin Holdsworth. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, and meaningful experiences. After retirement, Joyce and Ed enjoyed traveling together with friends, creating many cherished memories along the way.

Joyce was a devoted mother to five children: Jim, Steve (Deb), Cary (Lynn), Gerry (Jeanie), and Keith (Sam). She was a proud grandmother to Bill, Joe, Mat, Daniel (Meghan), Nicki, Courtney, Meghan (Josh), and Derek, and a cherished great-grandmother to eight great-grandchildren.

She worked for many years at McCurdy's Department Store, where her kindness and steady presence left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Joyce will be remembered for her warm heart, her quiet strength, and the love she so freely gave to her family and friends.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe St. Honeoye Falls. Graveside service to follow at Honeoye Falls Cemetery; 210 N Main St., Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. All who knew and loved Joyce are welcome to attend and pay their respects.  In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Alzheimer's Association is appreciated in Joyce's memory.
