Obituary of Lorraine F. Wallace
Lorraine Frances Orr was born September 7, 1938 in Rush, New York and passed away on April 7, 2025 at the age of 86 in Canandaigua, New York. She was predeceased by her parents (Walter and Mary Orr), her daughter Laura Lee (age 2), her husband (Robert Lee), her step-son (Robert Charles) and her brother (Walter).
Lorraine is survived by her loving son, Robert Francis (Terri), daughter Sherry and daughter-in-law Cathy; Sister: Alice; Grandchildren: Nicole (Justin), Robert, II (Amber), Randy Lee, Blake, Dakota, Colton; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and many family and friends, including her best friend of 63 years, Marilyn Farley.
Lorraine was known for her kindness, generosity and deep love for her family and friends and dedicated herself to helping others. After graduating from Avon High School, she attended Nursing School at Monroe Community Hospital and earned her LPN certification. She and Robert married and moved from Rochester to West Bloomfield. She was a home health aide for several families in her West Bloomfield Community where she lived for 64 years. Her hobbies included flowers and gardening.
Lorraine adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every grandkid has a favorite meal that grandma made with love. Lorraine will be remembered for her kindness, her love of hummingbirds and her love of animals, especially her dogs - Skippy and Jackson. Lorraine was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Avon. She was proud of the service to their country of her husband (Robert Lee), two sons (Robert Francis and Robert Charles) and her grandson (Robert Francis, II).
Friends and Family may gather on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home located on 59 Monroe St., Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. Calling hours will be held from 12 pm - 2 pm followed by a service at 2 pm. Following the service, Lorraine will be laid to rest at the West Bloomfield Rural Cemetery, located behind the West Bloomfield Historical Society on Routes 5 & 20.
In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor the memory of Lorraine, the family kindly asks that donations be made in her name to the Avon American Legion Post 294, PO Box 132, Avon, NY 14414. Please include a note with your donation: "In Memory of Lorraine Wallace". Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated.
