Obituary of Barbara J. Smith

Barbara Jane Smith went home to be with the Lord on April 15, 2025, a few months before her 90th birthday. She was born to Ray Gordon Startup and Esther Minnie Ida Bardun Startup, July 9, 1935, and raised with her sister Marjory in Pittsford, NY. Barb graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School. She met the love of her life, Leet Allen Smith and recently celebrated 71 years of marriage on March 20th.

Barbara is survived by her husband Leet, daughter Debora Questel, granddaughter Meredith, son David (Melissa), grandson Jared, granddaughter Kendra (Ian) Eppard, great grandchildren Oliver, Lenora, Ainsley and Florence.

She worked in the Manor School cafeteria while her children attended school there. Barbara most enjoyed her time as secretary at Lima Baptist Church, working for Noah Stoltzfus, and Mike Maloney. Her kindness and compassion to all will be long remembered. Birthdays and anniversaries were always remembered with a card and handwritten note from mom/grandma. Always faithful to encourage and pray for her children and grandchildren.

We will miss her love and devotion but look forward to seeing her again in Glory. Well done, Mom, we are thankful to God for you.

Friends may call from 10 am to 11 am at the Crosswinds Church, formerly Lima Baptist Church, 1574 Rochester Street, Lima on Friday, April 18, 2025, where her Service will follow at 11 am. Interment at Honeoye Falls Cemetery at 2 pm with Family.
