Obituary of Gary T. Bliven

Gary T. Bliven 77, of Honeoye, NY, passed away on July 4th, 2025, at Light Hill/Canandaigua Comfort Care Home. Gary was born in Rochester, NY. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served for 4 years. One year was spent in Vietnam where he was wounded in combat receiving the Purple Heart. He worked for General Motors and retired after 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, water skiing, playing cards and spending time with his family. Gary is survived by his wife Wendy of 52 years. Son Jason (Anna) Bliven, Daughter Dawn Lester, Son Todd (Myda) Ewert, Son David Griffin. Grandchildren Jasmyn (Kenny) Gerstner, Megan DeFrance, Makaila (Eugene) White, Sierra Ewert. Great Grandchildren Bentley, Lilianna, Addison, Kennedy, Carter. He is preceded in death by his parents Geroge and Delores Bliven, In-Laws Billy and Elma Gerberding, Son-in-law Steven Lester. Celebration of Life will be held at The American Legion Post 256 located at 454 N. Main St. Canandaigua on July 26,2025 from 1pm-4pm.
