Obituary of Bruce Allan Carlson

Bruce Allan Carlson, age 78, of Mendon, NY, passed away suddenly on August 25, 2025. Born on June 18, 1947, in Jamestown, NY, he was the son of the late Paul and Harriet (Holm) Carlson. He graduated from Jamestown High School and went on to Jamestown Community College before a successful career in the insurance industry as Vice President at S.H. Gow & Co. In 1968, he married Vicki (Kurek) Carlson, sharing 57 loving years of marriage. He is survived by his wife Vicki (Kurek) Carlson, sons Jason Carlson (Dawn), Jeremy Carlson (Heather) and Jeffrey Carlson, daughter Jennifer (Carlson) Schiedel (Brian) and eleven (11) grandchildren who he absolutely adored – Alexis, Amelia, Addison, Taylor, Jacob, Lauren, Sydney, Tucker, Mason, Wynter and River. Bruce cherished the memories and friendships he made at Canandaigua Lake during his boating years. He enjoyed golfing, playing guitar, rooting for the Buffalo Bills, working on puzzles, maintaining his beautiful lawn and spending time with family and friends. He never missed a sporting event, graduation or celebration for his beloved grandchildren. "Papa" will be missed most for his caring and selfless nature, his ability to make everyone laugh, his love of family, and how he always put everyone else first.
