Traditional Requiem Mass
Obituary of Diane C. Harris
Diane Carol Quigley Harris of Honeoye Falls, was born December 25, 1942, in Rockville Centre, New York, passed away peacefully at her home. She was the beloved daughter of Daniel Christopher and Laura Louise Quigley.
Diane lived an extraordinary life, guided by faith, family, service, and professional excellence. A proud graduate of the Catholic University of America (B.A., 1964) and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (M.S., 1967), she went on to a distinguished career at Bausch & Lomb, where she rose to Vice President of Corporate Development. In 1996, she founded Hypotenuse Enterprises, Inc., an advisory and consulting firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions, serving clients across the U.S. and internationally. Her leadership was widely recognized—named one of Business Week's "50 Women to Watch" and recipient of the President's 21st Century Leadership Award from the Women's Hall of Fame. Her list of accomplishments could fill the page.
Diane balanced her professional achievements with deep community service. She held leadership roles in Rochester Against Intoxicated Driving, the National Council on Alcoholism, and the New York State Coalition for Safety Belt Use. She also gave her time and talent to the Rochester Women's Network, the National Association of Women Business Owners, and Rochester Rehab Center, leaving a legacy of service and advocacy.
At the heart of her life was her unwavering Catholic faith. Diane immersed herself in theology, Scripture, and Canon Law, and published numerous articles in Cleansing Fire defending the traditional teachings of the Church. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Dominic Church in Shortsville, New York.
Diane also found joy in life's simple and enduring pleasures. She treasured her beloved Canandaigua Lake home, where she spent countless hours boating, entertaining friends, dancing to her favorite songs on her jukebox, and soaking in the peace of the water. Her deep love of animals, especially dogs, brought her joy and reflected her kindness and compassion.
She is survived by her brother, Donald Quigley; her sister, Laura Quigley; and her nieces and nephews, Rebekah Diane Wortman and Jonah Wortman. She was predeceased by her nephew, Joseph Wortman and niece, Shannon Marie Wortman. Diane also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and colleagues whose lives she touched with her wisdom, faith, and generosity.
Diane's life was one of brilliance, devotion, and love. She will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments, but also for her steadfast faith, her joyful and quick-witted spirit, and her abiding love for God's creatures. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Diane's memory to: The Station of the Cross, 6325 Sheridan Drive, Williamsville, NY 14221.
