Obituary of Kaitlyn M. Renner
Kaitlyn Renner, 29, of Honeoye Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 after a year and a half long battle with cancer. She passed peacefully with her parents at her side.
Katie was born in Batavia, NY on the 4th of July. She attended Avon Central School (K - 12) where her mom worked. She graduated in 2014, then went on to SUNY Fredonia, earning a teaching degree. She later earned her Master's degree from SUNY Geneseo.
School held a special place in Katie's heart. Taking after her mother, she became a teacher. She spent six years teaching 4th grade at Geneseo Central School District. She loved her students.
Katie was a strong, determined person. She loved to learn and gather information before making any decision. Once she made a decision, she stuck by it until new information was shared. This is how she navigated her battle with cancer. She knew at any given time what was happening. She was unafraid to ask questions and demand answers. She learned how to have difficult discussions and grieve but not dwell. It never took long before she was asking, "What's next?" Katie fought until the very end. Her loved ones supported her on this journey and watched in admiration.
Katie deepened her faith over the last year. Her prayers and conversations with God helped her feel at peace.
Katie was a smart, savvy, funny, determined, kind, and beautiful person. Her many strong relationships are a testament to the value she brought to others' lives.
Katie is now with her grandparents, uncles, and beloved dog; Bailey. Katie is survived by her parents; Terry and Diane Renner, grandmother; Jean Cambrini, sister; Megan, brother-in-law; Mac, aunt; Sandy, cousins; Jen, Mike, Gabby, Angelo, and Nicholas, dear friends, and beloved cat; Teddy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 3pm - 7pm at Merton H. Kays Funeral Home (59 Monroe St, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472). Funeral mass, followed by cemetery procession, will be held on Friday, November 7 starting at 11am at St. Paul of the Cross (31 Monroe St, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472).
