Guy left his family farm and hometown of Weedsport NY and established himself in West Bloomfield finding employment at Enarco Manufacturing. Guy enjoyed this detailed machine work and was a great role model for all those under his supervision. He retired after a fulfilling career of 41 years overseeing and managing people and production. He took pride in his accomplishments there.
Guy was best known for his love for the outdoors and adventurous spirit. He learned that being in nature was the secret to happiness. He enjoyed sitting in the woods anticipating a buck, leading a group of snowmobilers through snow packed trails, being covered in mud 4 wheeling through the Adirondacks, taking a big belly plunge in an ice cold river or just conversing around a campfire with his loved ones. He always looked forward to his next adventure. And the more family and friends involved, the merrier.
Guy will also be remembered for being a contributing member of his community, serving on the church board and town board; long time boy scout leader; volunteered as an ambulance driver and Meals on Wheels deliverer. He enjoyed umpiring softball games. He was often the first one to roll up his sleeves when there was a need. He was devoted to his family and companion Marie. He never missed sending birthday cards, helping with a move or project, or showing up for a hospital visit. He lived life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held at Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls on Saturday, January 17th at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Flaherty's Three Flags Inn at 60 West Main Street, Honeoye Falls. All are invited and welcome.
