Dee was a kind, caring neighbor on Union Street in Scottsville during the 1970’s & ‘80s. As very young children, Dee invited us to swim in her pool. The invitation Dee extended included swim instruction. Dee was patient. Dee was reassuring. Dee pushed outside of our comfort zones. And within a few visits, we were paddling and kicking on our own. Thanks, Dee. You taught most of the kids on Union Street to swim. And your cherry-red stick shift corvette with the black convertible top was kick ass. My sympathy to Dee’s family. Rest easy, Dee. Thank you for taking is us under your wing.
