Aileen T. Dux Obituary
Aileen Teresa (Hopko) Dux, 63, passed away unexpectedly at work on July 30, 2026. She is greatly loved and will be missed more than words can say.
Born in Suffern, New York, Aileen grew up in Ramsey, New Jersey, and graduated from Ramsey High School in 1981. Aileen earned her individualized Bachelor's Degree in Production Management at the University of Maryland. She moved to the Rochester, New York, area in 1988 with her new husband, Mark Dux. She had an initial long career at Nalgene (Thermo Fischer). For the past 15 years Aileen worked at Bausch & Lomb's Rochester plant in production planning, where she was a valued and knowledgeable member of the Bausch & Lomb family. Aileen felt great meaning and joy in her job; her relationships and friendships at work were very important to her.
Aileen loved her dogs over the years (Cody, Booker, Sprocket, Cricket, and Timber). Cricket and Timber may be the most spoiled dogs on the planet. She supported dog rescue, having rescued both Cricket and Sprocket. Aileen always had a dog story to share and really liked talking with others about their dogs.
Aileen and Mark loved to travel around the US, visiting new places for new experiences. Aileen's wish on their most recent trip was to visit a Buc-ee's truck stop, which Mark and she fulfilled. Ever a planner, and even though retirement was years away, Aileen asked Mark to create a list of places from Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives to visit when they embarked upon retirement travel.
Aileen was well known for her fashion style, creative pursuits, and hobbies. Aileen enjoyed making jewelry, setting the perfect table, and recognizing every holiday with decorations around the house. One of her biggest passions was helping friends and family with their personal style - an accessory is always required!
Aileen was the beloved wife of Mark for 38 years. She also is survived by her mom, Elizabeth Hopko, and predeceased by her dad, Anthony C. Hopko Jr. Her siblings are Jeannine Hopko Carr (spouse, Thomas Carr), and Anthony C. Hopko III (spouse, Dawn Neelan-Hopko). She leaves a very large family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Aileen was a very proud and loving aunt to the many nieces and nephews in both the Hopko and Dux extended families.
