Obituary of Caden A. Willis

Our sweet boy, Caden Alexander Willis, tragically passed away on November 15th, 2023. He was 17 years old, 10 days shy of his 18th birthday. Caden was born on November 25th, 2005, into a family that will never be the same without him. Caden's first years of life were spent in Old Forge NY, where the entire community surrounded him with love. Through his school years, he initially attended Bloomfield School District. He later transferred to the Canandaigua City school district and became a Canandaigua Academy graduate on June 25th, 2023. During his school years, Caden enjoyed participating in his school robotics team, running cross country, and spending weekends playing Dungeons and Dragons with his best friends. In his free time, he had a voracious appetite for learning about history, a genuine curiosity about how everything works, and an uncanny ability to reinvent the wheel. He loved spending time with his grandpa Jon hunting, fishing, mowing lawns, and building things. He enjoyed playing cards with his grandma Patti, as well as earnestly teaching her every little detail about every game he played. His kind, gentle nature was especially evident in his special relationship with his little sisters. Some of his favorite things included listening to music, playing video games, drawing with his sister Isabelle, his dog Bear, and sausage and waffles. Caden is survived by his mother and father, Taylor and Mitchell Miller, and two little sisters, Isabelle and Evelyn; Great grandparents Maria Cantu and Norman Willis; Grandparents Jon and Patti Willis (Bloomfield NY), Margie and David Campbell (Parker, CO), and Tom and Lynn Miller (Aurora, CO); Aunts and uncles including Jon Willis (Elke Schmitt), Carrie Willis (Sean Kirkpatrick), Aunt Mary Giaconia, and Chase Miller; Many cousins including Hailey Picchi (Matthew Picchi), Sean Kirkpatrick, Keara Kirkpatrick, and Jaxsyn Miller. Caden is also survived by many extended family members specifically including those in Ionia, NY, Oak Island, NC, various cities in Colorado, among so many more. Caden is predeceased by great grandparents Elizabeth Chapple and Barbara Willis. Calling hours will be held at Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls on Thursday, November 30th, from 4pm until 7pm. A celebration of life will be held next spring, details to be determined at a later date. In lieu of flowers, our family would like to request donations be made to Camp Aspire, at the Rochester Sunshine Rotary Campus at 809 5 Points Rd, Rush, NY, 14543.
