Obituary of Francis J. Reynolds

Francis J. Reynolds, of Honeoye Falls, NY, passed peacefully at age 81 on December 13th 2023 after an extended illness. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Susan (nee Riordan) Reynolds; his children: Kevin (Leah), Amy (Paul) Sansone, Katy (Jerry) Reyes, and Kerry (Ev) Yemini-Reynolds; and his siblings Tom (Kathie), Pat and Rose Reynolds, all of Lima; along with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and neighbors. Pre-deceased by his son, Timothy Reynolds; his parents, John F. and Aretha Reynolds; his brothers Paul and Terry Reynolds; and his sister Ann Reynolds. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Kelly, Nicholas, Caitlin, Jerry, and Izzy. Loyal brother, loving husband, excellent father and devoted grandfather, Frank was a devout Catholic and active community member of his hometowns of Lima and Honeoye Falls. Born to John F. and Aretha Reynolds of Lima, NY, his was the third generation of Reynolds family to operate the American Hotel in Lima. Proud valedictorian of Lima High School Class of 1960, he went on to St. Bonaventure University and the University of Detroit for his BME in Mechanical Engineering, followed by a Masters from Cornell University and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology. Frank worked for the Eastman Kodak Company for 34 years, prior to retiring in 2001. He spent his remaining 20+ years volunteering extensively in his community and church: mentoring clients for SCORE (Greater Rochester chapter), driving local residents to appointments on behalf of FISH (Friends in Service Here), and being an active parishioner and parish council member of St. Paul of the Cross Church. Frank is the father of five children to graduate from Honeoye Falls-Lima High School, and he was variously a Boy Scout troop board member, little league baseball coach, CYO basketball coach or community soccer coach for all five. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, showing his grandchildren how to pick it, and sharing its bounty with the neighbors. Friends may call on Thursday, December 28th between 4-7 pm at Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 10:00 am Friday, Dec 29th at St. Paul of the Cross Roman Catholic Church in Honeoye Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank's memory to St. Paul of the Cross Church, 96 Prospect St., Avon, NY 14414.
