Obituary of Sandra J. Tuller

Sandra "Sandy" Jean Tuller (Saulpaugh), 78, of Honeoye Falls, NY, died peacefully in West Columbia, SC, on Monday, October 30, 2023. Sandy was born on January 2, 1945 in Germantown, NY the daughter of Gordon Saulpaugh and Edna Rockefeller Saulpaugh. Sandy graduated from Red Hook Central High School in 1963 and from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in 1967 with her degree in Food Management. Sandy worked in the Test Kitchen of the RT French Company where she helped develop and promote recipes for products created in French's Labs.

Sandy is survived by her husband of 55 years, John G Tuller, and her three sons William of Honeoye Falls, NY, Robert of Washington, DC, and John of Penn Yan, NY; and her sisters Susanne Saulpaugh of Boston MA, and Becky Hacker (Leo) of Rensselaer, NY. She is predeceased by her parents Gordon and Edna Saulpaugh.

Family was an important part of Sandy's life. She devoted much of her time toward making family Birthdays and Anniversary Celebrations so special. As a longtime resident of Honeoye Falls, she was known for her famous rum cakes. Many, including friends, neighbors, and her sons' teachers and bus drivers would look forward to getting some of her baked goods.

Sandy was involved in the Honeoye Falls-Lima school system until all three sons graduated. She was involved in producing a PTA Cookbook which not only raised funds for the PTA but contained many useful recipes. Sandy was awarded a Lifetime membership in the PTA and she was also a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. Sandy was also involved in Cub Scouts as a den mother. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls and enjoyed baking Christmas cookies and rum cakes for the Christmas Teazaar.

Sandy and her husband John were both lifetime members of the American Wine Society and co-founded the Rochester chapter. Together they established Tuller Vinifera Vineyards on Seneca Lake. They were longtime members of the New York State Wine Grape Growers Association. They enjoyed many wine related trips throughout North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Sandy will be remembered for her many acts of care and concern, love, and kindness toward others.

A Celebration of Sandy's Life will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 3 pm, at the First Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls, 27 North Main Street followed by a reception in Guild Hall.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Honeoye Falls or the University of Rochester Forget-Me-Not Fund for Alzheimer's and Dementia Research.
