Carol M. Gilbert age 85 of Avon/Lima passed away Friday, December 8, 2023 in Mt. Morris, NY

She was born the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Petrus Privitera on October 9, 1938 in Rochester, NY.

Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 38 years, Dale; her daughter Dianna Flora, stepchildren Judy Gilbert, David (Brenda) Gilbert and Daniel (Rachel) Gilbert; grandson David Wolinski; step grandchildren Melissa, Sarah, Jamiee, Haylee and Kaylee Gilbert.

Per Carol's request there will be no Services. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, 11 Murray Hill, Mt. Morris, NY 14510. Carol will be interred in St. Mary's Cemetery in Honeoye at a later date.

The following poem is in the Livingston County Hospice pamphlet and written by Tony Witte, MD of Dansville, NY and this poem touched Dale's heart and he wanted to share it with you all.

When My Candle Burns Low

When my candle is burning low

and my stay on Earth is coming to a close,

I hope that those I love will be near

to laugh and cry with me,

That my children and grandchildren will

share stories of life with me,

That my doctors and nurses will ease my

pains but not separate me from my dignity and privacy.

I hope that I may stay at home,

before I go home.
