Obituary of Teresa M. VanAalst

Teresa Marie (Tripp) VanAalst Teresa passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with Cancer. Born January 26, 1955, the first child of Leonard and Rosie (Rotunda) Tripp, Teresa was a lifetime resident of Honeoye Falls, NY. Preceded by her parents Leonard and Rosie Tripp and dear cousin Jane Rotunda O'Toole. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael J. VanAalst, her two children Michael C. VanAalst and Julieanne T. VanAalst and grandson Michael D. Dobson. Her siblings Leonard (Brenda) Tripp, Josanne (Joe) Logsdon and Michael (Kathy) Tripp. As well nephews and nieces, Nicole Bourg, Brandon (Nicole) Tripp, Ashley (Travis) Lisena, Morey Tripp and Michael L. (Tara) Tripp, Fiona and Dawson Bourg and Carly Tripp and Brooke Henderson. As well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Married for 44 years to the love of her life, together Michael and Teresa poured their heart and souls into their family and raising their children. She had a great sense of humor and biggest heart, which anyone who knew her was blessed to be in the presence of. This included her many nieces and nephews, who she treated as her own children. She loved hosting various family events and being surrounded by her loved ones at the family house at 81 East Street in Honeoye Falls. Teresa loved to travel with her sister and daughter. Their adventures took them from the Adirondacks, to Toronto, Boston and finally the United Kingdom and Ireland. Jokingly they called their adventures "Tripps on Trips". It brought her so much joy to be surrounded by the ones she loved. Teresa worked at Hanson Aggregates/Heidelberg Materials in Rochester, NY for over 40 years. She was an active member in her community, volunteering as a Girl Scout and Boy Scout Leader, Religious Ed teacher and member of the Rosary group at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Honeoye Falls for many years. Friends and Family are asked to call Friday, February 16, 2024 between 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Merton Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday February 17, 2024 at 12pm at St. Paul of the Cross Church in Honeoye Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to American Cancer Society in her honor. "When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind."
