Obituary of William P. Lynch

William Paul Lynch, September 10, 1936 – June 8, 2024 at his home. He was 87. He was born the son of the late Marcus and Cyrilla Lynch in Rochester. NY. He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra A. Lynch, daughter Patricia Lynch Sequeira, sister Kathryn Pfenninger, brother Frank Lynch and brother-in-law Charles Pfenninger.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Patrick) Povosky, Cynthia (Don) Thornton and Vicki Childers; son Steven (Audrey) Lynch; grandchildren Jennifer (Corbin) LeBeau, Jason (Stephanie) Sequeira, Joe (Wendy) Povosky, Jessica Vazquez, Morgan (Shawn) Cox, Allison (Jeff) Gottlieb, Dustin (Kayla), Chase and Adrean Childers. 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; brothers Richard (Betty), Michael (Paula), Daniel (Barbara), Joseph Lynch and sisters, Christina Olgers and Teresa (Anthony) Steimer; many nieces and nephews.

Bill worked 33 years at Eastman Kodak as a Mechanical Designer, garnering several patents over the course of those years.

Always an avid Indianapolis 500 fan, having had an opportunity to see the race in person in the 1950's. Bill was a die-hard University of Texas Longhorn football supporter. Many times preferring to watch their games and other college games instead of the pros. Bill was also an umpire for Little League Baseball for a few years and was one of the "C" team Vince Lombardi Football coaches for a couple of years .

His devout faith led him to many duties in service of St. Paul of the Cross Parish. Over 50 years as head usher, several years as cemetery maintenance man and assisting several priest's with funerals and on occasion serving as an Alter Boy.

Friends may call Friday, June 14, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. His Mass will be held Saturday, 10 am at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Burial, St. Paul of the Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Paul Womens Rosary Society.
