Obituary of Joan Cynthia Amorese

Joan "Cindy" Amorese of Honeoye Falls, NY died peacefully surrounded by her family on November 10, 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital at age 76. She was born February 25, 1948, in Trenton, NJ the daughter of the late Richard and Marilyn Case Fabian.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Pete Amorese; her daughter Sarah (Dave) Marusiak. 2 grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Marusiak. Sisters, Pam (Joe) Stewart, Linda Stanley, Martha (Reggie) Duerst and brother Rich Fabian. Sisters-in-law, Jeanette Amorese and Angela Ford. Several nieces and nephews. In addition to being predeceased by her parents, her sister Barbara Zeck also predeceased her.

Cindy was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren Nicholas and Emily. Cindy had a great passion for the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. Cindy loved gardening, her flowers and birds. Decorating was also her passion, especially bunnies and snowmen.

Cindy graduated from Mercy High School and Monroe Community College. Cindy began her career at Genesee Hospital as a receptionist. At that time, she met her husband Pete of 52 years.

Our family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses and caregivers at Strong Memorial Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wilmot Cancer Center (Pancreatic Cancer Division) at Strong Memorial Hospital, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Rochester, NY 14642.

The family will greet friends beginning at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 26 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon on Monday, November 25th, 2024 where her Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am, the Rev. Rob Bourcy officiating. A reception to follow.
