Obituary of James W. Shepard

James W. Shepard of Honeoye Falls, died December 2, 2014 at age 82. He was predeceased by his parents, Wendell and Harriett Shepard. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years Barbara; sisters, Doris (Jarvis) Thormahlen and Judith (Ray) Russell; children, Deb (Jim) Wilder, Lori (Pete) Shepard, Peter (Tanya) Shepard, Ken (Deb) Speed, Terry (Kathleen) Speed and Diana Caccamise; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Jim was a lifetime resident and graduate of Honeoye Falls Central School and also a graduate of Cornell University in 1960 with a Bachelors in Science degree. Jim served in the US Army and returned to Honeoye Falls afterwards. He worked 30+ years at Honeoye Falls Central School District, first as a teacher, being held in the highest regard, and retired as Facilities Manager. Even after retirement Jim still was an active participant in many school committees and functions. He sat on several village committees and had been an active member on the Conservation Board and the Lyons Club just to name a few. He will be greatly missed by all. Friends may call Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 4-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls where Services will be held Friday, Dec. 12 at 11 am.
