Obituary of Ruth E. Fanton

Ruth E. Fanton (Durbin) of Mendon, NY died Sunday evening October 14, 2012 at age 87. Ruth was born the daughter of John and Virginia Perry Durbin on May 31, 1925 in Henrietta, NY. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years James E. and siblings, Ralph Durbin and Mary (Durbin) Saunders. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Dolores), David and grandchildren, Michael (Holly) and Nathan. She was a dedicated mother and wife as well as an avid horsewoman, both riding and driving. A member of WNYDA, the Northampton Driving Society, Walnut Hill and others, she was still participating and winning awards up till last season. Ruth was also a member of Honeoye Falls United Methodist Church. Friends may call Wednesday October 17, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Services will be held Thursday at 11 am at the Honeoye Falls United Methodist Church, 31 East St. In lieu of flowers, memorials maybe directed to the Church Memorial Fund or to the Northampton Driving Society, 234 Martin Rd.
