Anne ("Brooksie") was born on Oct. 31, 1924 in Drama, Greece

stories of her remarkable childhood in northeastern Greece,
where her father was assigned by an American company. After
many years abroad, the family moved to Honeoye Falls, NY,
where Anne became a lifelong resident. She graduated from
Columbia School for Girls (Rochester, NY), and attended Hollins
College and the University of Rochester. She married George
H. Martin in 1945 and they lived in Ithaca, NY while George
continued his education at Cornell University after the war. Later
they made their life together in Honeoye Falls, where they reared
their four children on Hillbrook Farm. Anne was a dedicated
volunteer at Meals on Wheels for over 25 years. She also served
as a Red Cross nurse's aide at Highland Hospital, and was a
member of the Sandalwood Twig. Anne was a longtime member
of the Junior League, the Chatterbox Club, and the Country Club
of Rochester. She was a talented artist and studied painting at
the Memorial Art Gallery. An enthusiastic gardener, she also
delighted in arranging flowers. Anne's greatest joy was spending
time with her devoted family and treasured friends, including
