Obituary of David B. Jones

David B. Jones, 72, of Mt. Morris NY was born in Malone NY on November 17, 1942 & passed away peacefully on Sunday July 5, 2015 @ Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY. He grew up in Chateaugay NY and was married to Marilyn Lavery Jones. She predeceased him on September 18, 1999. They were married for 35 years and raised 5 children on the dairy farm they owned and operated on the Earlville Road in Chateaugay. Early in his life he worked in construction and was a union steward on many major projects throughout the North Country. Dave was an assessor for the town of Chateaugay, was a Franklin County Legislator from 1984-1992 and served on the town of Chateaugay and Franklin County Democrat Committees. Survivors include 5 Children, David William "Billy" Jones of Chateaugay NY, Barbara(Michael) Bausch of Livonia NY, Susan (Daniel)King of Chateaugay NY, Sandra (Edward)Heydens of Hilton NY , Kelly Schmidt of Palm Shores FL. 7 Grandchildren, Ella Jones, Christopher and Lauren Bausch, Evan King, Emma and Ed Heydens, Kayla Schmidt. His Siblings, Judy Earl, Jean Fall, Bob Jones and Emma Tolosky all from Chateaugay , Jerry(Barb) Jones, Malone, Diane(Walt) Podwirny of Queensbury, Nancy (Frank) Koti of Florida, Frank (Cindy) Jones of Niagara Fall, Peggy Beckman of Westfield, many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his parents, Margery and Arthur Jones, his in-laws and Siblings, Kate O'Neill, Mary Duquette, Helen Goodman, Anna Post, Jimmy and William Jones. Dave was a good friend to many and one that you knew you could always count on. He loved spending every morning with his dear friends at Donna Jo's (Stars and Stripes) coffee shop. . For those who loved Dave he will be deeply missed and can never be replaced. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
