Obituary of Maryanna Sage

Maryanna Garling Sage of West Bloomfield went peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on July 1, 2010. She was 76. She was born the daughter of Louis and Emily Peglow Garling on December 5, 1933 in Pittsford, NY She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Russell in 2008; her parents, Louis and Emily (Peglow) Garling; sisters, Evelyn Garling and Marjorie Wells; brothers, Louis, Clarence, Robert and Howard Garling. She is survived by her daughter, Evelyn Ruth Sage of West Bloomfield; her son and daughter in law Ronald Louis and Suzette Sage of Honeoye; two precious grandsons, Kevin Russell Sage and Kyle Robert Sage both of Honeoye; two sisters in law, Beverly Garling and Sylvia Van Pamelen; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members the Concannons. She was a member of the Lima High School Alumni Committee for 34 years. She was a life time member of the West Bloomfield Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary having been a member for 43 years. In 1980 she organized the first blood mobile in West Bloomfield. Special thanks to Dr. Ernest Anderson who has been her family physician for 58 years and to Dr. Raman Qazi who has been her Oncologist for 17 years. Friends may call Monday, July 5, 2010 from 3-9 pm at the MERTON H. KAYS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Her Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 6 at 11 am at the West Bloomfield Congregational Church, 9035 Routes 5 & 20. Burial, Oak Ridge Cemetery, Lima. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Lima High School Alumni, c/o Louise Stanford, 36 Fairlea Road, Honeoye Falls, NY 14472.
