Kay and I were best friends in high school at HFHS. Kay was not much of an athlete, but I can still see her playing basketball when women had to have six on a team and four of the six only played on one half of the court. Kay was a defender who blocked the opponents out. I also remember that she made it possible for me to pass Biology and Chemistry. Kay was a bright, attractive, and capable person. I had looked forward to seeing her at our 55th high school reunion.

Over 37 years ago,we were married at Steve's church-WBCC.It was a very "bare-bones" affair due to low finances.Kay,of course, was the organist for the ceremony. When we tried to give her a small token of our appreciation, she not only refused, but gave us a wedding gift!
I have always remembered that and what a caring person she was..something to truly emulate in our own life.
God Bless,Kay

Geez, Mom... I never thought I'd be able to handle losing you and then the whole Memorial Service hoop-la... but I did it, and so did the rest of the family. You taught us so well how to "buck up" and carry on. I know you must have felt such pride as you watched over us today. I hope you know how proud and in awe I was of you all these years (except when I was a snotty teenager- sorry about that). You touched so many people and I'm grateful they've shared their wonderful memories of you. I miss you tons and luz ya 2080.

I had the pleasure of working for and with Kay in the Nursing Department at Monroe Community College for 3 years.
A great and innovative nursing professional, she is one of the people who has inspired me during my own nursing career. I think of her often and remember her sense of humor. I learned much from her, and am grateful to have known her. My condolences to her family.

Kay was my psych. teacher at MCC in 1977. She made all the difference in my life by being one of the first people who clearly supported my efforts in nursing and demonstrated the level of excellence that I strove to emulate in my career. Besides being a mentor, she was a friend.
When I hit some rocky moments, she was there to help me find my way. She was a pioneer in nursing and in the support of people who were dealing with their own impending death. She will be remembered for her warmth and sense of humor. I will never forget her.

I HAVE BEEN A NURSE FOR 20 YEARS,AND I HAVE PRECEPTED MANY,MANY NEW NURSES, AND I ALWAYS USE THIS TERM, "NURSE OF EXCELLENCE" WHEN I AM TEACHING NEW NURSES HOW TO BE THE BEST THAT THEY CAN BE!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR WISE WORDS AND LOVE OF NURSING, AND YOUR LOVE OF GOD AND WBCC.

So many years of knowing Kay...So many hours of choir practice; making a "joyful noise"! Hours getting ready to perform Cornball Capers and the flush of success we had when it went well! Kay was able to coax me into doing things I never thought I could. I will always remember her with laughter and gratefulness.
My prayers are with Ron, Michelle, Andrea and their families and for all the friends Kay has left behind.

There are women who make things better….simply by showing up.
There are women who make things happen.
There are women who make their way.
There are women who make a difference.
And there are women who make us smile.
There are women of wit and wisdom who, through strength and courage, make it through.
There are women who change the world everyday….women like my Mom.
I will miss you Mom. Luz You 2080. XOXO

My deepest regrets to your family at this time. I have fond memories of Kay. She was my Psych professor at MCC in 1976. She was influential in my nursing career. I am now an NP. When we moved to Bloomfield, Andrea and Jill became friends and classmates. It was good to see a familiar face at school functions. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this difficult time. Kay touched many lives and she will always be remembered.

One of the most elegant, kind-hearted, generous and intelligent people I have ever had the privilege and honor of knowing, Kay will be so incredibly missed by not only family and friends, but all of mankind. I loved her as much as my own mother from the time I was a young child right to the present day and am so happy that my son, Jake, had the opportunity to know and spend time with his “Granny” for the 12 years that he did. God Bless you, Kay. I will never forget you!
