Obituary of Helen F. Scannell

Helen F. Scannell of Honeoye Falls, formerly of Arlington, MA., died Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester. She was 94. She was predeceased by her husband, James, brothers Edmund and Walter Furtek. Helen was born the daughter of Walter and Julia Sliwa Furtek on July 22, 1016 in Chicopee, MA. She worked for many years at Harvard University as a secretary. Mother of James (Nancy) of Honeoye Falls; grandmother of Jessica (Chris) Rooks and Jocelyn (Edward) Evans; great grandmother of James, Jayden, Jordan Evans and Zora Kili Rooks; sister of Alice Koeninger of Ludlow, MA; sister in law to Dolores Furtek and aunt to special niece Cheryl Furtek all of Lanesboro, MA, as well as many other nieces and nephews. Calling hours and her Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Arlington, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Road South or the Episcopal Church Home, 505 Mt.
