My Godmother: she had the brightest smile and the kindest heart. She lit up every room she walked into, every event she was at. Whether it was a birthday, a 1st Communion, a graduation, a wedding, a picnic, a Christmas party, an Easter party, or any kind of party or get together - the mood became a little merrier, spirits a little brighter, the event just a little more lively and festive - when Tootsie (and Butch) walked in. "Hey, look! It's Aunt Toots and Uncle Butch! Tootsie and Butch are here! All right!!!" Everyone knew the good times were about to get even better. And even at wakes and funerals: as sad as you were and as hard as the tears might flow, you'd feel just a little bit better and a little more peaceful and consoled from all the empathy and sadness and love and kindness that filled her eyes as they met yours, as well as from the warmth and love of her embrace as she truly shared in your loss.
And now we all must share in the loss of Tootsie, who leaves - like Butch did - way too soon. I guess neither heaven nor earth could keep them apart for long. Our world's a little dimmer now, but the stars are a little brighter. And so the Love Story continues on a different plane...

I would like to think that Tootsie and Butch are somewhere on a beautiful country road riding their motorcycles together. I know that wherever they are, they are now together again where they were always meant to be.

My brother is married to Jeanette's daughter, Karen, and I came to know Jeanette and Butch very well. They were the sweetest and nicest people and I will miss them both but I take comfort in the thought that they have been reunited.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Jeanette (or Tootsie). However, by knowing her daughter Karen I can't help but to believe that she had to be an incredible woman. My deepest sympathy to the entire family for the loss of both of your parents this year. You are all in my prayers at this most difficult time. May you find comfort in your faith knowing that they are at peace with our Lord.
