Obituary of Dan O. Taylor

Dan Osbeck Taylor of Rush, NY died December 21, 2010 at the Benincasa in Mendon, NY. He was born in West Chester, PA on May 31, 1930 the son of George and Wilma Osbeck Taylor. Dan graduated from Cornell University College of Agriculture in 1952 with a degree in Economics. Following his graduation, he served three years in the U.S. Navy. After his military service, he attended Harvard University where he earned a Masters degree in Business Administration in 1957. Utilizing his skills he developed during the nine years he worked in industry, Mr. Taylor started the firm of Convenient Food Marts of N.Y. When the firm was sold in 1987, upon his retirement, there were 80 stores. The loss of his presence will be deeply felt by his wife Andrea (Seeley) Taylor. Dan was also the loving father of his son Gray and his daughters, Kim, Seeley and Kit. He was the grandfather of Anthony, Peter, Danielle, and Grace Gargiullo and Weston, Savannah, and Delaney Taylor. Friends may call Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 3-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 29 at St. Joseph's Church, 6105 Rush-Lima Road, at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dan's memory may be sent to Benincasa Comfort Care Home, 3880 Rush-Mendon Road, Mendon, NY 14506.
