Obituary of M. Robert Erway

November 23, 2011 at Strong Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. He was born the son of Ralph and Gertrude Horton Erway on December 18, 1925 in East Rochester, NY. Robert retired from Sherwin Williams in Rochester. He was a member of the Rush United Methodist Church, where he was very active in many ways, from singing in the choir, to staining the outside of the church. Robert was the oldest member of the Rochester Bass Masters, and was the recipient of the Sportsman of the Year in 2009. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps. on the big island of Hawaii; also served at Iwo Jima and Nagasaki, Japan. He was a member of the American Legion in Rush. Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Jane of over 59 years; daughters, Suzanne (Stephen) Hoffman of Webster, Julie (Paul) Erway-Tucker of Atlanta, GA; 3 grandchildren, Laura Hoffman, Kelsey and Lauren Tucker. Predeceased by brother Ralph Jr. No prior calling. Memorial Service Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 3:30 pm at the Rush United Methodist Church, 6200 Rush-Lima Road. In lieu of flowers memorials to The Pulmanry and Critical Care Division, UofR Medical Center, 601 Elmwood Ave., Rochester, NY 14624.
