Obituary of Wilma A. O'Brien

Wilma A. O’Brien of Ionia, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua. She was age 90.  Wilma was born July 19, 1925 in Lima, NY the daughter of Leo and Hildred Davis Schweickhard. She worked for many years at the former McCurdy’s in Victor. She was an active member at the Ionia United Methodist Church prior to her poor health over the last years. Wilma was predeceased by her husband, Donald and her son Glen.  She is survived by her sons, Gary (Debbie), Ron (Pat), Randy (Cheryl) and Tom O’Brien; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Several friends and family including the wonderful caregivers of the Gardens at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua of whom Wilma thought of as her extended family.  No prior calling.  Friends may attend Services Friday, February 5, 2016 at 2 pm at the Ionia United Methodist Church, 2120 Elton Rd. Private burial in Millers Corner Cemetery, Ionia, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Ionia United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 8, Ionia, NY 14475 or to the MM Ewing CCC, Palliative Care Program, 350 Parrish St. Canandaigua, NY 14424.
