Obituary of Catherine Marie McGuire

Mrs. Catherine M. McGuire, 82, of Ionia, NY, passed away March 10, 2016, in Raleigh, NC. Catherine was born to John and Isabel Doggett on Dec. 6, 1933, in Hazleton, PA. She graduated from St. Gabriel’s High School and McCann School of Business, both in Hazleton. For more than 10 years, Catherine worked as executive assistant to the president at Marine Midland Bank in Rochester. Catherine was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was married to Jim McGuire for almost 54 years. Together they raised four sons. Family and faith were the most important things in Catherine’s life. She and Jim traveled extensively around the United States, Europe and other parts of the world. Catherine was an active member of Saint Catherine of Siena Church in Mendon. Mendon. She loved doing crossword puzzles, reading and spending ?me with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Jack and Joe; her sister, Mary Judith, RSM; and her husband. Catherine is survived by four sons, Greg, Jim, Matthew and Justin; four daughters-in-law, Lynn, Leslie, Amy and Tracy; four grandchildren, Cameron, Patrick, Regan and Emma; two sisters, Isabel and Alice; and her brother, Bob. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Mendon at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 19.
