Obituary of Daniel F. Henning

Daniel F. Henning of Lima, NY died Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. Dan was born September 28, 1950 in Canandaigua, NY the son of Fred and Kay Lord Henning. Dan was an avid maple syrup producer and proud of his product, Amber Jewel of the Finger Lakes. He could be found at many festivals, talking to everyone about maple syrup production, politics and military battles. He especially enjoyed talking to veterans. He always gave WW II and Korean vets choice of any product on the table. He always thanked them for their service. When they said they were just doing their job he would say, "if it wasn't for them 'doing their job' I wouldn't be able to do mine". For several years on Maple Weekends he partnered with the Prattsburgh American Legion who served pancake breakfasts using his maple syrup. This was the main fundraiser for the legion those years. He was a proud lifetime member of the NRA and adamant about the preservation of our Second Right Amendment. Dan is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Kay Henning. He is survived by his beloved partner "Jacs" Jacquie Shellman; brother David (Geri) Henning; 2 "step daughters", Rachel Shellman and Chrystal Gurney; 92 year old Godmother, Irene Landschoot; aunts, uncles and cousins.
