Obituary of Shirley J.C. Stiegler

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Jean Cordell Stiegler on January 2, 2019 following a long illness. Shirley is survived by her beloved husband The Rev. Mark Stiegler, daughters Lisa Price (Jim), Cynthia Segal (Bernard), Heidi Culp (Chris), stepchildren Christian Stiegler (Ann), Ashlee Viccaro (Steven), nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Shirley was a wife, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother all vocations she cherished. Professionally she was a nurse at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY, where she worked in the ICU and on the Medical-Surgical floor. She loved gardening of all types, canning, wilderness camping, canoeing, and raising dairy goats. In addition to her hobbies, especially raising goats, she enjoyed helping others in need with donations to the Smile Program and Episcopal Relief and Development with funds for disaster relief and the purchase of goats for families in developing countries. A fund has been established in her memory for the continuation of purchasing goats through the Episcopal Relief and Development for families in developing countries giving them food and access to a sustainable livelihood. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shirley Fund through St. John's Episcopal Church, 11 Episcopal Ave. Honeoye Falls, NY 14472. Indicate Shirley Fund on the memo line of the check. A Service of Christian Burial with Holy Eucharist will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. St. John's Episcopal Church, Honeoye Falls, The Right Rev. (Bishop) Prince G. Singh, Presiding. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall. There will not be any prior calling hours.
