Obituary of Mark L. Delavak

Mark Leonard (Delbert) Delavak, 59, of Rush, New York, passed away on May 13, 2019 in the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be held at Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls, NY on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. During this time there will be a memory book available to add your special memory of Mark. If you wish to write it down before hand, there will be a basket to collect all pre-written memories. This opportunity will also be available at the church service. Funeral service will be held at Rush United Methodist Church, 6200 Rush Lima Road on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Cathy Hall Stengel officiating. Mark was born in Brockport, NY, to Leonard and Ruth (Suttell) Delavak on November 11, 1959. He attended high school in Brockport and graduated in 1978. He went on to work as an Assistant Sewer Collection, Supervisor for Monroe County Environmental Services, Division of Pure Waters for Monroe County for 31.45 years. He enjoyed outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, playing golf, and lacrosse with his sons, spending time with Ettie and Brodie, the beach with his family, sunsets with Lori and just being outside in warm weather. Mark is survived by his wife, Lori (Werner) Delavak of Rush. His three children: Connor, Ettie and Luke; his two sisters, Barbara (Delavak) Bardotz, her husband, Paul, and Patricia Delavak; his sister-in-law, Wendy (Werner) Knight, and his nephew, Daniel, and niece, Elizabeth. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard, Ruth and his stepmother Joan (Suttell) Delavak. Mark is also survived by cousins and many friends. In leu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rush United Methodist Church, or the Rush Henrietta Sports Booster Club attn: Boys Lacrosse (Mark Delavak), 1799 Lehigh Station Road Henrietta, NY 14467.
