Obituary of Roger W. Wilson

Roger W. Wilson of Pittsford/Mendon, age 90, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2019. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Ruth Treadwell Wilson and his loving daughter-in-law, Floraine Gremion. Our dear father leaves his son, Jeff D. Wilson and daughter, Kathleen W. (David) Kirkham; his granddaughters, Jessica and Allison Kirkham along with other loving relatives and friends. Roger served his country proudly by enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Cadmus during the Korean Conflict as a Communications Technician and a Photographer's Mate Second Class. Roger attended Union Junior College and Ohio State University where he met his wife Ruth. He then, married Ruth and they moved to Rochester, NY. Dad worked for Eastman Kodak Company for 30 years in the research labs. During his research in the film and color development process, Roger acquired 4 patents. He was "always" behind the camera testing film and documenting his surroundings. He archived his travels which included hiking, backpacking, rafting and bird watching. He also cataloged car races and photographed music concerts. Roger climbed many mountains including 44 of the "46ers" in the Adirondacks and the "Rim to Rim" in Arizona. Friends and family are invited to Celebrate Roger's Life on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 1-4 pm at the Bridges of Mendon, 3897 Rush Mendon Road, Mendon, NY 14506.
