Obituary of Arnold John Leckie

On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, Arnold "Jack" Leckie, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at the age of 90. Jack was born on January 26, 1930 to Franklin Arnold Leckie and Myrtle Goff Leckie. He and his wife Nancy (Dunn) of nearly 69 years raised 2 children, Mark (Lynn) and Martha (Jeff) Matthews. Jack worked for many years as treasurer at Dunn Oil in Mendon. Later he was the Supervisor of the Town of Mendon. He served the community in many ways, among them, as a member of the NY Guard, National Guard, Mendon Town Board, Mendon Fire District Treasurer, HF Rotary Club, Mendon Cemetery Association, Mendon Historic Preservation Commission and the Husky Farmers baseball team. Jack was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Myrtle, as well as his step-father Edward McEneany. He is survived by his wife Nancy, children Mark and Martha, grandchildren Lisa (Jeremy) Collins, Hannah Leckie, Amanda (Timothy) Mecklem, Jessica (Glen) Barton, Laura Leckie, Keri Adams, Tami Leckie, 6 great grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
