Obituary of Shirley A. Besanceney

Shirley Ann (Mamoone) Besanceney, born in Honeoye Falls, NY on May 13, 1936 and died in Rochester, NY on October 25, 2020. She is survived by her husband Henry Alfred Besanceney; her children Mary (Brian) Aiken; Henry A. (Rosanna) Besanceney III and Michel A. Besanceney (Sharon Schell); grandchildren, Devin Lawrence Aiken (Ranisha Singh), Quinn Stewart Aiken, Madeleine Maëlle Aiken, Briana Besanceney and Tabatha Besanceney.; brother Thomas (Catherine) Mamoone. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph Sr. and Mary Rotunda Mamoone; siblings Dolores (Mamoone) Jarvis, Joseph Mamoone Jr, Virginia (Mamoone) Conn. Shirley graduated from Honeoye Falls Central School Class of 1954, the State University of New York at Geneseo Class of 1958 (Bachelor of Library Science). She worked at Red Jacket Central School in Shortsville, NY from 1959-63 as a teacher, Tichenor Furniture Services in Honeoye Falls, NY from 1972-80 as their bookkeeper and retired from Rochester Institute of Technology in Henrietta, NY where she worked from 1980-2005 as Campus Safety Parking and Special Events Coordinator. Shirley's passions were cooking, crafts, hosting family gatherings and being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. No prior calling. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
