Obituary of Carol H. Laniak

Carol H. Laniak died peacefully at the St. John's Greenhouse Home on Tuesday, December 22nd, 2020 while surrounded by close family and friends. She was 83. Carol was born on April 23, 1937 in Avon, NY to her parents, Raymond and Helen Hammond. She graduated from the University of Rochester School of Nursing in 1959. She married David Laniak in the fall of 1959. The Laniak's eventually settled in Rush, NY where she spent the majority of her life. Carol was an active and enthusiastic volunteer, helping out with the US Census, local Red Cross blood drives, check-ins at town polling locations and a Compeer Friend. She was an active participant in the local Ingleside Club and was a longtime supporter of animal shelters. Carol is survived by her two sons and their wives, Mark (Carin) Laniak, Todd (Ruth) Laniak; 2 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, David, and her sister, June Batzing. Carol will be buried in a private ceremony on December 26th, 2020.
