Obituary of Norman L. Miller

Norman Louis Miller, Jr. Henrietta/Rush- Passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021 at home with his family at age 89. He was predeceased by his parents, Norman, Sr and Ida Mae Miller and son, Mark Stephen Miller, brother Gordon (June) Miller, sisters Jane (Donald) Marlowe, Norma (R. Morley) Maxwell and Eleen Koloseike. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Louise and devoted children, Barbara (Paul) Kingsley, Gregg Miller and Linda (Steve) Czerwinski, brother John (Gloria) Miller, brother-in-law, Herb Koloseike, grandchildren, Kathryn (Rich) Pittenger, Daniel (Kathryn) Kingsley, Ashley (Sean) Green, Brandon (Tami) Czerwinski, Kellianne (Steve) Williams, Dustin (Christine) White, Nathan (Alicia) Czerwinski, Jamie (Jason) Kime and Bradley Miller, great grandchildren, Donovan, Liesl, Elijah, Rhys, Micah, Ethan, Cora, Grant, William and many nieces and nephews. Norm was in the US Army at Fort Campbell, KY from 1953-1955 and active in Rush Legion. He was a Science and Math teacher in the Rush Henrietta Central School District from 1956 to 1963 and an Administrator from 1963 to his retirement as Burger Jr. High School Principal. From 1964-1968, he was a Rush Town Board member and Justice of the Peace. He was involved in Cub Scouts as a Leader and Pack chairman and Boy Scouts as an acting Scoutmaster. He was an active member of Rush United Methodist Church for over 70 years. During those years he was in the choir, taught Sunday School and served in many leadership positions. Due to Covid restrictions a private family service will be held on Sunday, January 10 at 2:00pm. The service will be live streamed, www.rushumc.com. A celebration of his life will be held later.
