Obituary of Richard J. Flaherty

Richard J. Flaherty of Honeoye Falls, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at age 82. Dick was born June 13, 1931 in Rochester, NY the son of Jack and Marie Murphy Flaherty. Dick was a talented oil painter, drummer and friend to many. Dick was a Navy Korean War Veteran. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy; his children Amy (Michael) Beikirch, David (Genevieve), Daniel (Elaine) and Katie Flaherty; grandchildren, Emily, Brian, Jack, Erin, Padraic, Ava, Owen, Meme, Finn and many granddogs. Friends may attend his Memorial Mass, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at 10 am at St. Marianne Cope Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 1209 Rush Lima Road, Rush. At Dick's request, his body was donated to the University of Rochester School of Medicine. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the House of Mercy, 725 Hudson Ave, Rochester, NY 14621.
