Susan Shaheen posted a condolence

We send our deepest condolences to your family at this very challenging time. We have lovely memories of Aunt Sue. Our mother, Pauline Shaheen, loved her dearly and has missed her so much since moving to California. I have wonderful memories of Aunt Sue. I think fondly of countless holidays at the family's home and playing with Paula, Stephen, and Christopher. She was always fun and spirited (in the best senses of the word). She traveled to California for our wedding. Tim and I are so grateful she was able to share this special occasion with us. We send our love and support as you celebrate her life. Love, Susan

I have lost my best friend of over 50 years as next door neighbors sharing the bumps of life. We brought our children up together, having coffee n spaghettios with the kids; Parties with many great memories. Although her life was was full of bumps she could always smile n say others have it worse. A smile, love, n concern n her rosary that was the gal I knew! Not Mary, not Mary Sue but Suzie, n there will never be another. She was one of a kind. Each time she came home from the hospital she’d tell me “well God isn’t finished with me yet”. Peace be with u Suzie, you’ve earned the gates of heaven. I will never forget you.

Mary was an incredibly caring person. She always kept in touch with my dad, Ken Frederick, with a card or having a cup of coffee. Prayers and thoughts to her family.

My prayers are with her family. I remember Sue when she came to the family reunion. She always had a smile and great personality. I babysat the kids when they were young. I remember her coming home from the event , she asked how it went. I said how do you do it, God Bless you. We’d laughed. Her smile and sense of humor will be missed.
Cherish the memories you made.

I always remember Aunt Suzie being at least a half hour early to everything! She was also the most caring, too - always wanted to know how the family was doing!
She was incredibly funny as well! You NEVER knew what was going to come out of her mouth - she always had something quick-witted and hilarious to say! Best part was she had NO filter whatsoever :)
We’re all better people for having her in our lives - she made a positive impact on all of us and will be dearly missed!!

We were so very sorry to see this posted last night. Sue was a forgiving, gentle soul who possessed a strong heart and real and firm sense of right and wrong, regardless of 'official' stories.. She was a rock in times of need, and never forgot to stay in touch, or listen to others negativity - she stood by with her support. Even after leaving her longtime job at Pinehurst, Sue made sure those birthday and caring notes went out to residents and friends monthly, along with the occasional phone call. A truly caring person - a rarity these days - Sue will be sorely missed..
