Obituary of Les R. Morse

Les R. Morse of Lima and the Honeoye Falls area passed away on December 5, 2021 at age 76. Les is survived by his beautiful wife of 55 years, Rev. Alfreda (Saltzer) Morse; son, Matthew; his "Number One" daughter, Katrina (Rich) Allen, and the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Isabel and Sullivan Morse, and Holden and Emilia Allen. His sister-in-laws, Vitha and Hilda Morse, loving nieces, nephews, and cousins, his "brother" and childhood to adulthood best friend, Ken (Sue) Sigas, and many, many friends. Predeceased by his parents and all his wonderful siblings. Family was everything to Les. Les was a 1963 graduate of Honeoye Falls High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He was a salesman for Lawson Products until his retirement. Not one to ever sit still, after retirement, Les worked for Veterans' Outreach and always took the lives of our brave service men and women very seriously, especially as they integrated back into civilian life. He was the treasurer of the Lima Legion and greatly loved spending time there with everyone. Les never met a stranger. He had a gift of making everyone feel welcome and often cracked people up with his sense of humor and (awful) dad jokes. He loved the Buffalo Bills - we mean REALLY loved the Bills - and held season tickets for decades. Les was the brightest light in the room, and his family and friends will miss him dearly. He was truly one of a kind. Les's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at Highland Hospital where Les ultimately received hospice care. They are especially grateful for Dr. Abres and Dr. Hudson, nurses Catherine and Stacey, and Patient Care Techs, Nick and Alan. They all went above and beyond in giving Les the best care and immensely helped his family. The family will receive visitors on Friday, December 17th from 4-7pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Service is Saturday, December 18th at 11am at the Lima Presbyterian Church. Military burial following at North Bloomfield Cemetery. Please join the family at a luncheon reception at the Frances M. Dalton Lima American Legion Post 282 after interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sgt.
