I knew Mr. Zavitz during his membership at the Honeoye Falls - Mendon Volunteer Ambulance. He was a fine gentleman and a pleasure to work with.

My deepest condolences to the entire Zavitz family. I worked with Dennis for many years on a professional level, but I always considered him a valued friend as well. He was a consummate professional, considerate, articulate and cared deeply about the safety and health of the employees he protected with his wise and considered counsel. I was happy for him when he chose his well deserved retirement, but I was sorry to see him leave. I missed working with him, and it is unfortunate that he did not get to enjoy a lengthy retirement. He was a terrific guy. Ken Kleinman

My most heart felt condolences to the family. Dennis was not only my mentor but a good friend that I admired very much. He was a man of few words but when he spoke, it was conviction. I will always remember his sense of humor, the pride he had for his family, and our times together.

I knew the Zavitz family well as Debbie and I want to RH schools together. She died way too young from the cancer that took her mom and dad. I am embarrassed that I did not know Zip rose through the ranks with West Henrietta Fire. My dad Bruce Coxe was very active with Henrietta 1 and was on the first commission. Yes, when someone takes on a lot of responsibility in the volunteer fire service, on top of a successful career, while raising a loving family, the family should take great pride in their accomplishments. They stand head and shoulders above the average citizen. Dedication to decades of community service is a rare thing now. I'm so sorry we have lost such a great guy. His heavenly reward awaits him.

Dennis was a pleasure to work with and had a wonderful, and odd sometime, sense of humor. That's what made him special! Blessings and prayers to the Zavitz family.
