Obituary of Marylyn T. Mooney

Marylyn Taylor Mooney, formerly of Mendon NY/ St. James City Florida, passed away on January, 9, 2023, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband F. Edgar Mooney Jr., and her daughter Diana Mooney-Vandevelde of Middlebury, VT. Marylyn is survived by her children Frederick E. "Trip" Mooney III (Laurie), John (Julia) Cuyler, and Sarah Saypack (Drew). Grand Children Frederick E. "Freddy" Mooney IV, Travis (Brooke), Melissa Mooney,Zack, Devon, Sienna, Brynn, Troy, Sydney Saypack, and Taylor Saypack. Great grandchildren Zion, Eli, and Bella Mooney. When Marylyn was not chasing her five children, or a horse down West Bloomfield Road, she was an avid tennis player and very active in the community. She enjoyed gardening and painting and had a unique love of music. Anyone within sight of her would be treated to a verse of the Boarding House song. For Marilyn and Ed, the sailboat was their second home. From the Finger Lakes to the Virgin Islands, they enjoyed hosting friends and family and making new friends along the way. They also spent many summers when the kids were little at Lake Dunmore in Vermont. The family would like to extend special thanks to all the great people at Alpine Manor who took care of her in the last years of her life, and considered her a member of their family. A service in her honor will be held at Mendon Church, 936 Cheese Factory Road, Mendon, NY on Saturday, February 25th at 1 pm.
