Obituary of James A. Barclay

James A. Barclay of Mendon/Honeoye Falls, NY formerly Waynesburg, PA, February 3, 2023. Survived by his loving wife Patricia of 63 years. Predeceased by his parents Edmund and Margaret Barclay, brothers Clarence and Harold, sisters Martha Pettit (Howard) and Sarah Lightner (Victor). He is also survived by his sister Marian (Keith) Kughn of Waynesburg, PA, brother John (Weedena) of Henderson, CO and David (Sylvane) of Huber Heights, OH and many nieces and nephews, and very special friends. Jim served in the United States Army. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology where he received a degree in Industrial Engineering. While at RIT he was inducted into the RIT Sports Hall of Fame for wrestling. He taught at RIT Evening School for 15 years. Jim retired from Mixing Equipment Co. (Lightnin) after 27 years. He also worked 13 years at Taylor Instrument Co. He was a member of Rochester Industrial and Manufacturing Engineers Society (RIMES) and Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME). Jim loved to golf, play cards, read and wood working. Friends may call Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc. 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. His Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, Feb. 9 at 11 am at St. Catherine of Siena, 26 Mendon Ionia Road, Mendon followed by burial in Mendon Cemetery.
