Obituary of Judith H. Boston

It is with deep sadness that the family of Judith H. Boston announces her passing on February 17, 2023. Judith was born in Syracuse, New York on August 20, 1938 to Roland and Evelyn Harter, who predecease her. She attended school in Syracuse and lived there for many years before relocating to Honeoye Falls, New York. She worked for many years at the Workers Compensation Board. Always interested in learning something new, Judith spent time working on calligraphy, sewing, knitting and becoming an excellent cook. For many years she enjoyed annual trips to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Canada. Summers were always anticipated with great excitement as they were spent at a family home on Cape Cod. Family was of the utmost importance to Judith. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Boston. She is also survived by her daughters Martha (Edmund) Meskutovecz of Glenville, New York and Lauren (David) Shaffer of Honeoye Falls. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. They are Matthew (Mollie) Shaffer of Leesburg, Virginia; Elizabeth (Nicholas) Kadick of Raleigh, North Carolina; and Andrea (Benjamin) Demers of Milford, Connecticut. Judith was also blessed with several great grandchildren: Evelyn, Mairin, Cecilia, Felicity, and James Shaffer; Beau Kadick; and Audette Demers. Predeceasing Judith, in addition to her parents, are her brother, James Harter, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Harter. Their children, David (Laurie) Harter and John (James) Harter-Taurozzi, also survive their aunt. We would like to thank the staff at St. Johns Nursing Home for their years of care and friendship. Especially, Sharon, Tammy, and Yulia. Family and friends may attend a Celebration of Life for Judith on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11 am at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Johns Foundation. To leave a condolence, please visit www.mertonkaysfuneralhome.com
