Obituary of Marie K. Schillinger

Marie K. Schillinger passed away June 1, 2023, at the age of 78, unexpectedly, but peacefully. At her side was her loving husband, David L. Schillinger, from a marriage of more than 58 years, and her three children Dave Schillinger Jr., Dawn Schillinger Zuber and Tim Schillinger. Marie held the title of Vice-President for the Rush Gravel Corporation for decades. She devoted her entire life to the success of the business and her family as her children and grandchildren inevitably became involved and helped grow the company to what it is today. Marie made countless sacrifices to ensure the survival of the company and to make sure her family would always be better off today than they were yesterday. Marie's love and care for her family came second to none. Whether it was a holiday, a birthday dinner, or just your typical Wednesday afternoon, she made sure that every member of the family had food on their plates and a smile on their face. She was always full of laughter and things were never quiet in the Schillinger household. Marie was often at the center of a lot of stories that made the family laugh, but she was never afraid to dish it right back out. Marie is survived by her husband David L. Schillinger, her son Dave (Sue) Schillinger Jr., daughter Dawn (Ken) Schillinger Zuber, son Tim (Tina) Schillinger; her grandchildren, Shelby (Christopher) Bailey, David (Kenna) Zuber, Brad Schillinger, Colleen Zuber, Emily Schillinger, Megan Schillinger; sister, Rita (Chuck) Arner; brothers Jim (Dorothy) Morris and Sid Morris, sister-in-laws Carol Frezza and Nancy Dell and several nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved and touched deeply. Calling hours will be held at Merton H. Kays Funeral Home in Honeoye Falls on Monday, June 5th from 4pm through 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rush Fire Department.
